These “soft skills” are incredibly important to employers world wide. It is often said that “soft skills” cannot be taught, you either have them or you don’t. This is not true.

These skills can absolutely be taught, and the earlier you get exposed to them, the better.

Who is this after school program for?

This program is ideal for students, grade 3 to 10, located in the Brampton and Mississauga area. Getting extra help with these critical communication skills at an early age, can make a huge difference later in life.

How does it work?

The first step is a student interview to get a better idea of skill levels for reading comprehension, writing, and speaking. A parent or guardian is required to attend this initial assessment as well.

Once the student has been adequately assessed, they will be placed into an appropriate class. Students will be expected to keep up with regular attendance, weekly homework, and assignments in order to succeed in the program.

After School Program Brampton

The after school program at Write on Q can benefit your child in many different ways.

Aside from the tangible areas of improvement like reading, writing, and speaking, students will also develop such skills as:

  • Critical thinking
  • Organization
  • Personal interaction

Critical Thinking

Critical thinking is basically the ability to think clearly and rationally about something. It’s all about taking in the relevant information, and deciding what is most important an why.

This a tremendously useful skill, that is shockingly underdeveloped in a lot of students today.

One way to get better at critical thinking is to put it to work. Write on Q offers many activities that will give students a chance to practice and develop critical thinking skills.

Organization

Good organizational skills are absolutely essential for good writing. A piece of writing without planning and preparation will not be easy to follow or enjoyable to read. The goal is to create an informative and pleasurable experience for the reader.

Good planning and organization is important to so many aspects of life. Being well prepared usually means better results with less stress.

Personal Interaction

The Write on Q after school program encourages effective communication at all levels. Written communication is certainly important, but students will also learn to present their ideas verbally to the class in a calm and concise manner.

Students will also be editing each others’ writing, so they will learn how to be critical with being offensive.
